This commentary looks at Lithuania's contribution during its presidency of the Council of the European Union from July to December 2013. The authors say that some 137 legal acts were adopted during the country’s six-month term, including several highly sensitive and complex pieces of legislation. They argue that the overall success of the adoption of these acts was only slightly marred by the haste with which a few agreements were negotiated.
