This paper argues that the US needs to prepare for a form of warfare that will come to exist in the not too distant future in which unmanned and autonomous systems will play central role. In particular, the authors talk about why they think there will be a shift to this form of warfare, what it means for US defense strategy and national security, and what action the US Department of Defense should take to be prepared for this change.
