In light of a complaint filed by the Comoros against Israel before the International Criminal Court (ICC) in 2013, this brief analyzes the effects of such actions on Israel's legitimacy and international standing. The author contends that although the claim regarding the Israeli takeover of a Comoros’ ship in 2010 is not likely to proceed to trial, the ICC is being used as a political tool to invoke media response. He concludes by arguing that such proceedings should raise concern in Israel given Palestine's expressed intention to apply to international tribunals and subsequently file claims against Israel and Israelis.
