This brief analyzes trends in Egyptian public opinion caused by the US decision to partially suspend military aid in late 2013. The author states that this decision has sparked anti-American sentiments and has actually diminished United States’ influence in domestic Egyptian affairs. He also says that the decision has not affected security cooperation between Egypt and Israel; and, if anything, has in fact highlighted the level of their bilateral interdependence.
