This paper explores the motivation behind Saudi Arabia's alleged purchase of CSS-5 (DF-21) ground-to-ground missiles from China in 2007. The author also discusses the potential implications of the alleged deal on regional security in the Middle East, as well as China’s growing interest in selling advanced weaponry to the region.
