This paper provides a demographic overview of social media users in Saudi Arabia. It identifies two main groups, namely the conservative and radical camp and the camp of Shiites, women and young intellectuals who make up the majority of social media users in the kingdom. The authors then explain the different motivations of these groups and their success in using social networks.
