This paper discusses the Israeli government’s decision to set up a committee to manage the regular budget disputes between the country's Ministry of Finance and the defense establishment. The author contends that the committee should not be created to act as a peacemaker which eliminates any argument between the two sides but rather that it should be there to devise an orderly process which assists both sides to come to a decision.
