This paper discusses tensions between Saudi Arabia and other members of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) over Riyadh's dominance and initiative to turn the organization into a full political union. The author also explains how it has become more difficult for the GCC to present a unified front due to factors such as Saudi Arabia’s opposition to Oman's role in the P5+1 negotiations with Iran and Qatar's support of the Muslim Brotherhood.
