This paper argues that the Internet will never be perfectly secure as its complexity is beyond the comprehension of any team of experts. The author also outlines the significant amount of time, money and skills required to try to stay on top of internet security issues and makes specific recommendations about how individuals, who are not experts, can attempt to look after their online safety.
