This paper contains a collection of articles analyzing Boko Haram, its activities and international linkages. Individual contributions focus on issues such as 1) the group’s origins and trajectory; 2) its imitation of other jihadist groups by attacking telecommunication infrastructure; 3) the interplay of religious, ethnic and regional identities in its development; 4) the responses of the Nigerian state to it; 5) the legislative actions taken by the US Congress regarding it; 6) its international connections; and 7) a psychological profile of its founder, Muhammad Yusuf.
