This paper contains a collection of essays analyzing international responses to pirate activity off the coast of Somalia. Individual contributions focus on anti-piracy efforts undertaken by the EU, NATO, the UK, South Africa, and the UN Office on Drugs and Crime. Additional essays evaluate the effectiveness of the Security Association for the Maritime Industry and of the Maritime Piracy Humanitarian Response Programme.
