This document presents the key findings of a seminar on the applicability of the Polish and European reconciliation experiences and mechanisms to reconciliation in East Asia, where historical disputes and misunderstandings have not been successfully dealt with. It describes the main features of the European rapprochement model (based on Poland-German and French-German experiences) and presents lessons and steps that should be taken by South Korea and other states in East Asia to launch a rapprochement process.
