This paper analyzes an address made on May 1st 2014 by Israel’s ambassador to the United States, Ron Dermer. The author argues that Ambassador Dermer's comments indicate that Israel's position on its strength does not match that of the US and that if Tel Aviv actually acts on the basis of its view, it will most likely lead to an increase in tensions in US-Israeli relations.
