This paper examines the Union of South American Nations (UNASUR) which was created to enhance regional integration in South America. The author looks at the origin or of the organization and its key areas of engagement which include the dispute between Argentina and the UK over the Falkland Islands; organized crime; regional democratization; and espionage. She then examines UNASUR's relations with other regional international actors before discussing the future of the organization.
