This paper discusses the impact of the Hispanic population on the political landscape in the US. The author argues that Hispanics have become a major electoral constituency in recent years, able to influence the outcome of presidential and state elections. The article features an examination of the changes in demographics, the role ethnicity plays in the electoral mobilization, Hispanic partisanship, and the characteristics of the Hispanic vote.
