This paper features a collection of essays which discuss the main features of the Responsibility to Protect (R2P) framework in light of the 2011 military intervention in Libya. Individual contributions examine issues such as 1) the evolution of the R2P concept, 2) critiques of the military intervention in Libya and whether it can be considered an instance of R2P in action, and 3) the dangers an inconsistent application of R2P poses for its continued relevance as an international norm.
