This paper discusses the political crisis in Lebanon resulting from the post of president remaining vacant since Michel Suleiman’s term ended in May 2014. The author suggests that the situation poses a real danger, both for the country itself and the wider region, as the escalation of internal strife in Lebanon could lead to the further spread of Syria's civil war into the country.
