This report draws on interviews and focus group discussions held in Afghanistan in 2011 and 2012 to examine the extent to which women’s rights and access to justice have improved in Afghanistan since the fall of the Taliban in 2002. In their analysis, the authors focus on 1) common rights violations against women in Afghanistan and causes of dispute; 2) mechanisms and barriers in dispute resolution for women in the country; and 3) strategies for long term sustainable improvement in Afghan women's rights and access to justice.
