This paper provides an overview of some of the social and economic consequences of the 2008 financial crisis still affecting Spain. The author highlights that, despite gradual improvements, Spain has yet to reach the micro and macroeconomic growth levels it experienced before the crisis. He also examines how the crisis has affected banking, exports, migration, human development, and politics in the country.
