This paper discusses the strategic issues surrounding the reconstruction of Gaza following Israel's 2014 operation "Protective Edge" against Hamas. The author examines Israel’s strategic interests in the reconstruction and development of infrastructure in Gaza and the West Bank, the preconditions necessary for such an operation to be launched and the conditions under which such a reconstruction will successfully produce peace.
