This paper discusses Israel's approach to the management of its conflict with Hamas in the Gaza Strip and argues that the fighting which started in July 2014 demonstrates that this approach has failed. The authors also outline an alternative approach for how Israel can manage the situation, suggesting that it should abandon conflict management and work toward a resolution of the conflict.
