This paper examines the state of the P5+1 negotiations with Iran over the Tehran's nuclear program following the decision to continue the talks despite the passing of the deadline for a final agreement in July 2014 set by the interim deal. The author argues that the negotiators in the talks are no longer demanding that Iran back away from its military ambitions and that a likely outcome of the negotiations will be a poor deal that will not only leave Tehran with the ability to build a weapon in a short space of time, but will also legitimize such action.
