This commentary provides an overview of how the EU's institutions can improve cooperation, arguing that due to a lack of trust and confidence between member states, an institutional treaty change cannot be a priority at the time of writing. To address this, the author advises adapting practical modifications in the daily working of the institutions to make them work better and more effectively together.
