This commentary discusses the role that think tanks play in creating and influencing US government policy. The author also addresses the issue of how some of America’s most prestigious think tanks are funded from overseas. He weighs in, however, that in a globalized world, these foreign financial sources should not be immediately treated as a suspicious means of peddling influence.
