Following the Polish government's adoption of a formal Polish Nuclear Energy Program in January 2014, this paper examines how the country can put the potential benefits provided by nuclear power to the best use possible. The authors also discuss the economic, technological and societal challenges which Poland must overcome if its civilian nuclear energy program is to be successful.
