This commentary analyzes the speech made by US President Barack Obama to the UN General Assembly on September 24, 2014. More specifically, it examines the President's comments on 1) the US offensive against the Islamic State (IS); and 2) the conflict between Israel and Hamas in 2014. It also examines how Israel should interpret the President's comments in order to jump start an Israeli-Palestinian political peace process.
