This commentary discusses the strategic approach the author believes Israel should take to deal with the expansion of and threat posed by the terrorist organization the Islamic State (IS). Overall, the author argues that Israel must improve its intelligence capabilities and rethink its relations with previously sworn enemies such as Syrian president Bashar al-Assad, and Hizbollah in Lebanon.
