This paper provides an overview of the operationalization of human security (OPHUSEC), focusing on the opportunities and limitations of the concept which puts the security of individuals, communities and populations at the center of security provision. The author presents and discusses a range of practical guidelines that can be used to replicate and implement different components of the OPHUSEC approach.
