This text features several short articles that cover various aspects of human security. More specifically, they focus on 1) the directing and structuring of violence; 2) a human security-based early warning and response system; and 3) security sector governance and reform issues. The text also contains case studies that explore the state of human security in Venezuela, Ethiopia, Kyrgyzstan, Nepal, Laos and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
