This paper looks at how international law applies to the use of nuclear weapons, primarily by examining 1) the rules that govern the protection of individuals and the environment, 2) the role of the nuclear-weapon-free zones agreements, and 3) the requirements of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).
