This is a transcript of a speech given by South Korea’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yun Byung-se, who provides his country’s perspective of the geopolitical status of Northeast Asia. Among other issues, he discusses 1) the continued threats posed by Pyongyang’s nuclear weapons program; 2) his government’s attempts to improve relations with North Korea; and 3) the actual prospects for Korean reunification.
