This paper examines the agriculture and food issues in the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) free trade agreement between the EU and the US, which is under negotiation and scheduled to be implemented in 2015. The authors argue that it is worthwhile making the effort to secure a constructive and imaginative agreement on agriculture and food regulations in the TTIP and propose a detailed list of potential sub-deals in agro-food, including market access, organic foods and animal welfare.
