This bulletin discusses how Malaysia might use its current chairmanship of ASEAN as a 'bully pulpit' to 1) grapple with the territorial disputes that persist in the South China Sea, and 2) stake out a central role for ASEAN in shaping Southeast Asia's economic and security architecture.
