In light of the April 2015 state visit to Russia by Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, this paper discusses the Kremlin's policy towards the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The authors set out some of the basic assumptions that they think lie behind Russia's policy towards the conflict and consider the potential for a Russian initiative to renew Israeli-Palestinian negotiations.
