This paper examines the main challenges and issues to be addressed at the review conference of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), which will take place in April and May 2015. More specifically, the authors look at 1) whether the NPT member states can agree on a final outcome document at the conference; 2) what constitutes success in the context of the Article VI of the NPT, which calls for a nuclear free world; and 3) how the humanitarian initiative, which aims to highlight the humanitarian consequences of nuclear attacks, will affect the conference.
