This paper discusses the extent to which Saudi Arabia and the other Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states could identify, and possibly work with, Israel to oppose Iranian hegemonic ambitions in the Middle East. In doing so, the authors examine 1) the barriers to improved relations between Israel and GCC countries, such as the Israel-Palestine conflict, and 2) what interests they share, such as mutually decreased reliance on the US, preventing an Iranian-backed Houthi regime in Yemen, and the signing of a comprehensive nuclear agreement between Iran and the P5+1 countries in 2015.
