This paper discusses the increasing tension in the Gaza Strip in 2015 between Hamas and Salafi jihadi groups that support the so-called Islamic State (IS). In particular, the author explains how these groups may unite against Hamas, and how the growing IS presence near Gaza may prompt Hamas and Israel to put aside some of their long-standing differences in order to fend off the encroaching Islamic movement.
