This meeting note provides an overview of the ideas for enhanced security cooperation between the UN Security Council (UNSC) and regional organizations - such as the EU and African Union - that emerged from the fifth annual Istanbul Retreat of the UN Security Council in April 2014. More specifically, the topic areas covered include conflict prevention, peace operations, counterterrorism, and humanitarian crises.
