This paper examines the discussions over the possible establishment of a Weapons of Mass Destruction-free zone (WMDFZ) for the Middle East at the April-May 2015 Non-Proliferation Treaty Review Conference. More specifically, the author discusses a proposal for the WMDFZ put forward by Arab nations, how Israel responded to it, and Egypt's part in putting forward conditions that prevented the possibility for a consensus to be reached among Middle East countries to move ahead on the WMDFZ. Finally, he looks at what the outcome of the conference means for Israel's relations with Egypt and the US.
