This Insight argues that in order to help bring about a lasting peace between Israel and the Palestinians, Tel Aviv should concentrate its efforts on the Gaza Strip. In practical terms, that means 1) engaging with Hamas; 2) supporting the reconstruction of the area's economic and civilian infrastructures; and 3) encouraging greater economic links and political reintegration between Hamas in Gaza and Fatah in the West Bank.
