In this transcript, UNESCO Director-General Irina Bokova focuses on the rising number of attacks on the world’s cultural heritage and diversity by Islamist extremists and other warring parties. Bokova also highlights the steps UNESCO is taking to combat what is nothing less than "cultural cleansing" and an attempt to close the door on future peacebuilding and reconciliation efforts.
