This commentary takes a critical view of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action agreed between the P5+1 countries and Iran agreed in July, 2015. The author argues that rather than preventing Iran from acquiring a nuclear weapon, the agreement provides Tehran with alternatives routes to a bomb. He then proposes that the US should consider the possibility of using a military option, in the form of surgical strike, should Iran violate the agreement, and that Washington should also make determined efforts to stop the Iranian missile program before it acquires the ability to arm ballistic missiles with nuclear warheads.
