This paper discusses the crisis facing EU in 2015 as a result of the large numbers of refugees attempting to enter the Union. In particular the author 1) discusses the different ways in which EU members have attempted to deal with the crisis as well as the divisions over what is the appropriate response; and 2) explores the possibility of introducing refugee quotas among member states as part of a potential new EU-wide system for processing and accepting migrants.
