This brief discusses the significance of India's abstention in the July 3, 2015 vote on a UN Human Right Council (UNHRC) resolution that censured Israel for “alleged war crimes” during the 2014 Gaza conflict. The author explains that this abstention is a break from India's almost unfailing support of resolutions which condemn Israel’s alleged violations regarding the Palestinian issue and discusses whether this softening of India's stance is likely to lead to closer ties between Delhi and Tel Aviv.
