This commentary contends that despite perceptions to the contrary, Germany’s economic and political preeminence in the Eurozone is waning. (A worsening economy and lack of real geopolitical influence outside of Europe are two reasons why.) It also considers what impact a weakened Germany could have on the power dynamics of the EU and Eurozone.
