This paper discusses some of the reasons behind the September/October 2015 wave of attacks in Israel, perpetrated by Arabs on Israelis. The authors in particular highlight the part that social media has played in inflaming Arab opinion and the influence which the Arab local and national political leaderships tried to exert to calm the situation. They then put forward some recommendations for what policies the Israeli government can adopt towards the Arab minority in order to prevent further riots.
