In this transcript, Ethiopia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Tedros Adhanom reflects on his country’s growing regional and international prominence. He attributes this trend to Addis Ababa 1) fostering economic development and advancing democracy; 2) trying to promote peace and security in the Horn of Africa; 3) contributing to Somalia’s ongoing political transition; 4) engaging in regional efforts to defeat al-Shabaab; 5) successfully implementing the UN's Sustainable Development Goals; and 6) improving the use of natural resources for sustainable and inclusive development.
