This paper explains that Germany and EU are currently facing a refugee crisis that is overwhelming the population and threatening to destabilize Europe. The author believes that to stem the migration flow, the great powers need to come together and work towards an immediate humanitarian ceasefire in Syria, to eventually pave way for a political solution to end the country's civil war. Moreover, she contends that Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Qatar – backed by the US CIA – need to stop holding the EU, the Syrian population and countries in the region hostage to their agenda of intensifying the civil war in order to remove Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
