This paper looks at the implications for Israel of Iran’s increasing engagement and influence in Syria brought about by Tehran’s involvement in the Syrian civil war. More specifically, the author reviews 1) Israel’s concerns about Iranian engagement in the Russian-led coalition that supports Syrian President Assad’s regime; 2) how Iran could increase its regional influence by expanding its presence in Syria; 3) what options Israel has to constrain Iran's position in Syria, and more.
