This commentary explores how developments on the international level and within Syria have impacted the stability of the Russian-Iranian coalition in the country since September 2015. As the text's authors explain, Moscow’s involvement in Syria has not produced the results it anticipated. As a result, frictions and conflicts of interest have indeed risen between the Russians, Iran and others (the Syrian Army, Hezbollah, and local Shiite militias). After exploring this development, the authors conclude by briefly discussing Israel's position on Russian-Iranian cooperation in Syria.
